I want to go somewhere where I have not yet been for spring break. Tokyo is my number one choice, but I cannot afford the flight ticket and much rather would spend the money saved for some nice clothing. I am considering California. Where should I go to hit up the best spots? I am going to be looking for Japanese denim and Nikes.

Self Edge is in San Fran, so thats really the only place u can go to in CA for the japanese denim brands. I'm sure you can find whatever shoes you want there too.

***** about LA/Hollywood is don't expect to get anywhere while visiting if you don't rent a car. SF, on the other hand, is a bit easier in that respect. You'd probably do better with Japanese denim in SF like PG2G said, but I'd assume better overall in LA.

Are you only going to shop?

SF is probably better for your needs. LA has a lot of clothing stores but they are all scattered about and you'll end up wasting a lot of your time in traffic. I think SF maybe easier to navigate especially if you want to save money on the car rental. Furthermore, finding the stores should also be easier since the city is so small. just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure when you're planning to come in the spring but you may not get perfect 80 degree and sunny weather, just so you know.

There are a lot of stores in LA, especially for denim, although not necessarily the best selection of Japanese stuff. That said, you can find Nudie, APC, SDA, and others right on the shelf, as well as lots of other cool brands, and if you haven't been there, it's a fun place to visit.

Miami for Winter Music Conference.

You spend your days either relaxing on the beach surrounded by topless models, attend fashion shows, shop, or go to pool parties. The rest of the time you're in and out of nightclubs with the top DJs in the world. The vibe is incredible, the fashion is amazing, and everyone is beautiful. It's like magic when you're there.
