I normally don't go near bright colors, but spring is coming, and I found this Rooster tie for about $2. I'm really on the fence with it, and I can't tell if it's because I'm just not used to wearing colors, or because it's an ugly tie. Opinions?

Nothing wrong with an orange colored tie but there seems to be alot of colors on that tie. I'd pass.

That tie is not terrible, in and of itself, but the pairing is all wrong. Try it with a light-navy jacket and pale blue shirt (or white shirt).

I would agree with Mr. White. A pocket square in a complimentary colour could lend some balance to it.

I would also wear it with darker suit. To my eyes the soft colour of the tie mixed with the soft grey of the suit just gives it a washed out look.

Is the tie a linen blend?

It would look great with a navy suit and a pale blue shirt, as noted above.

Nice tie. Pair with navy or dark brown coats, but navy is easier. For the shirt, you can even try small checks, as long as the dominant color is pale (not yellow) or white.

Oy vey. This is what I get for using an iphone camera and fluorescent light. It's a white shirt, and the linen jacket is a shade lighter than navy. Here's a pic that captures the colors of the tie better (orange, white, green and blue).

It's sort of a madras texture. Anyway, I already bought it, so the question is, do I wear it, or return it to another thrift store?

This.

It's a $2 tie. I'm guessing you spend that on coffee .
