Haha happens with my heavy Japan's and 1776, so uncomfortable
Hey wonsmith, thanks for the suggestion. I pulled the jeans tight and measure and they are right about 35 inches across. So a true to size 35 I guess.
have a good week all
Hey guys! After following this thread for the last few months, while (im)patiently waiting for my American Sixteeners, I now have my denim and I'd like to show it off a bit:
BONUS!! Here are some interactive, touch-to-focus pictures. Enjoy:
Best $91 I've spent in quite some time ;-)
I can't wait to see how these evolve over time so I will be updating my Pinterest monthly. (http://www.pinterest.com/jjimenezjj/denim-journey-gustin-american-sixteener/).
Just got my first pair of Gustin's. The quality and looks are amazing. I received the American Sixteener last week. I have been wearing them every day since. I have noticed a couple comments about the slims having a low rise. I got the standard straight fit and I am having the opposite experience. The rise is much higher compared to my other jeans. Has anyone else experienced this? How does the rise of the straight fit compare with other raw denim brands? My only other experience with raw denim is Left Field.
My experience is only with Unbranded. The lowest rise I've encountered is from my skinny UB104s. My American Sixteeners have a bit more of a rise compared to those. I would say that they are probably comparable to my tapered UB201s.
Same here. I'm relatively new to raw denim. I have a pair of Unbranded UB121, and the rise is at least 1" less than the Gustin straight fit. If you want to talk about a fear of "plumber's crack", the UB121 will give it to you. The Gustin jeans feel perfect. Like I said, it feels weird until you get used to it, but if you look at the photos of people wearing them, they look great.
What is that?
Question has probably been asked before, but I'm a 29" in Naked and Famous Weird Guy with big thighs, should I go for 30 or 31 in Gustin slim ?
I forgot to mention that my Sixteeners are the "slim" version.
FOR SALE: Natural Duck Canvas jeans. 33 straight x 33 inseam. 33 in duck is comparable to 32 in denim as it won't really stretch. For some reason they came short so if you usually hem 2"these would be perfect for you. Worn just to try on. $100 total via paypal if connected to your bank account or PayPal credit. $104 if using credit card. Briandstone at hotmail dot com buy early enough and I can ship today
I've got the rainbow nep in 29 slim. I absolutely love them except I should have gotten 30's.
Does anyone have advice on how to stretch the waist at least a half an inch? I tried dampening and wearing till they dry with little change. I've only worn them about 7 times now, so I know it could take a little while.
All you need is time. After about two weeks of constant wear, they should stretch just nicely.
@joshgustin My Duck Canvas arrived with a 32 7/8" inseam, unlike my other Gustin's which are almost 35". Weird. I emailed [email protected]
Right now I can wear the Duck but can't cuff them. If they shrank even .25" would take away most of the break with a low profile shoe. Thinking I should return them but await your response.
Great fabric BTW.
Seems oddly short, definitely shorter than what the specs say....
We'll definitely follow via your email to team@ and will figure it out.
