What's funny is the first run one of the black x black took over a week. The 2nd run sold out much quicker

I have the same pair of jeans in the same size and mine have stretched to 31-31.5" waist. Have you cold soaked your jeans yet? I got my okayama standards in on Friday and it came in measured at 14.5" across/29" which is difficult for me to get into. I cold soaked it for 45 minutes on Saturday and then tried stretching out the waist before I hung it up to dry. I tried them on again today and I was able to button it up all the way and wore it throughout the day. I measured the waist again and it stretched to about 31.5". Give it a shot!

My #82 American Sixteener came in. The waist on my Slim 32 only measures 31'' vs 32.5'' listed on the fit guide.

yup, my pima fires came in at 31" waist for a 32. super tight and can't button them. should've been 32.5" actual. bummer, will send them back. hopefully QC on sizing stays true. i'll size up to 33" from now on.

I ordered those Sixteeners in a straight 32. I neglected to measure when they arrived -- but I have a 32.5"-33" actual waist, and it just about took an act of God for me to button them up when they came out of the priority mailer. A week and a half later they feel just fine... but at the time I was 50/50 on sending them back.

Is that normal for Gustin? Have their other options sized consistently tighter than advertised?

I have two from the first batch/kickstarter days - Heavy Japan and American. Both size 32. The American was off by an inch making it very tight and too tough to button. Gustin did offer to take it back and replace it.

I have 1776 in 33 slim which works better for me. Never actually measure them since them fit me better.

So, after an off the cuff comment on reddit that I'd sold my loomstates for being a bit too large, Gustin just mailed me out a replacement pair in a smaller waist size (33 slim vs 34 slim). They did this even knowing that I'd already gotten most of my cost back, just as a gesture of goodwill and without me having even the slightest expectation that they were going to. I had simply commented that they were worth gambling on an inexpensive, unknown denim since even without being able to return them I'd only ended up paying about $15 for the experiment.

Wonderfully generous of them, needed some recognition.

    I'll second your sentiment.

The guys over there have been excellent to work with regarding exchanges.

Although it's always preferable to have less QA issues, I get it and realize they are always working to improve.

Definitely worth taking a chance on and I can say I am 100% happy with the 4 pair I own.

I must say their customer service is great, and I do believe they truly care about customer satisfaction. This is why I love supporting small businesses and their products, especially when you know how much R&D goes into them personally.

what does everyone think of the new wallet? I have the $25 dollar one and love it. The new one looks nice but its a little too big and expensive for my taste.

So I received my first pair of Gustins last week - the Okayama Standards. My first foray into raw denim. I know this has been covered to death but a couple questions on how to proceed. First of all I got the slims and I can button the top button but barely. I mean we're talking internal organ damage if I kept these on too long. So here are my questions:

    1) What's the next step? Cold soak? For how long? And then do I wear them wet? And for how long?

    2) I need to get them hemmed but the question is how short? If I want one cuff, should I do it two inches longer?

    3) Is it sacrilege to change out the button fly for a zipper? I frigging hate button flys. Don't even understand why people like them.

    Thanks!
