Yup. I think the straight is more of a work wear fit. Slim ought to suit a shoe like the Strand much better.

no, they are not that close. Take a pair of 484's that you have and measure the thigh, knee and leg opening. I own both and the Gustin are considerably wider at both the knee and leg opening. They will seem like more of a straight leg compared to something is slim as the 484

Oops. Should have noted that flannel shirt is the Grey Ember just received yesterday.

Denim shirt on top is from a different maker.

My first pair of Gustins has officially arrived! (This pair is actually a slightly-late Christmas gift to my dad who can never find jeans he likes).

It's the Japanese Fourteneer fabric, 36 Slim. Initial impressions are all good - the denim is very nice, actually softer than I expected it to be. Stitching seems well done everywhere, no loose threads I found (Although I did find it pretty hilarious the GUSTIN tag was sewn on upside-down and backwards).

As for sizing - compared to the chart my pair was very accurate. I noticed some comments in the last pages of things being off by quite a bit, with mine, everything was very very close to the sizing chart.

Overall, quite happy, now I just need my loomstates to get here so I have some Gustin to wear myself!

Haha guess more QA needs to be done, my 1776 that I got back in October doesn't have a leather patch which I'm okay with
