My Loomstates arrived the same. I pre-soaked them in cold water, with a wooden bar in the waist to prevent further shrinkage. They turned out to be my best-fitting Gustin jeans.

Others have reported that there is little to no waist shrinkage in the Loomstates, possibly due to the steam-pressing at the factory pre-shrinking the waist. So if you are OK with shrinkage everywhere but the waist, then give them a try before you give up.

The wooden bar is a clever solution. Didn't think of that.

I just got a pair of jeans, which should be my beaters for a while. Some day, I'll mess with Gustin. I do like their Chore Coats!

I just washed my Zimbabwes for the first time (cold wash, hang dry) and they shrank more than my Loomstates did. [IMG]

Interesting. Were these the 15oz/107's? Haven't washed a pair yet and curious.Thanks.

Seems like inseam shrinkage averages around .5". That's all I care about although the knees down all my Gustin straights could use some shrinkage (an in between slim and straight knee down would be perfect IMHO:) So glad I heeded their recommended 1 size up on the 18oz Zims as they would have been unwearable.

I'd follow this advice. I learned the hard way I'm in between their sizes.

I am confuse (not in a bad way; just confuse): I backed the Japan khaki workshirt. Funding closed on 1/5. Anticipated ship date was March. I received it yesterday.

What gives, guys? Did you know I was gonna order a slim M and have one set aside for me? :paranoia:

Anyway, I really like the shirt. It'd be great to see some of the slubby selvedge chambray fabrics in the workshirt model.

    Question for the Gustin-Shirt Gurus.

I wear Jcrew Med Slim. It's pretty fitted but not overly tight. I had two Gustin shirts in large that felt great but just a little too billowy everywhere. Shoulders were great though. Ended up giving them to my brother.

Do you guys recommend going to medium or Large Slim for my next try with Gustin?

ps - grey ember flannel was insane. Can't wait to get it again in my 'correct' size..

    Thanks in advance

Nope, no flaws at all. Shirts are great, I'm just having some sizing issues on my end so looking into getting some advice from the experts..
