Gunboat Longwing Ankle Boots: Your thoughts

I am considering commissioning a special non bespoke Gunboat longwing ankle boot by Ron Rider or by Vass (MTO)

What are your thoughts on making an ankle boot version?

Should I keep it a shoe or does the ankle boot turn something classic into something disgusting?

Alden of Carmel had this gunboat ankle boot as a starting point: http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/index...e_Boot_230.htm

I am considering using this gunboat shoe as a starting point too...its the 3rd shoe down http://riderboot.com/2009/02/17/spec...-february-2009

Vass (Gabor Halmos pic) has done a gunboat budapester high boot onthe budapester last too but unsure if I like it:

Must give credit where its do, Mafoofan's recent Alden gunboat was my inspiration

I like the idea. I'd have little use for that kind of shoe myself, but I see nothing wrong with it. It seems like the bottom heaviness of a longwing is a natural match for a boot format.

Tarmac...thanks for he pics

Whats the name of this specific Trickers model?

Isn't this more of a high boot than an ankle boot

At least this boot is NOT the direction I want to go since there is too much empty space on the side of the shoe from the topline brogueing to the longwings brogueing for my tastes

Do you have any idea what you'd change? I'm having a hard time picturing how that could be avoided with a longwing boot.

yeah it's a pretty basic design, not much to change.

I'm not sure what the name is, the ebay listing was described as "Longwing Golosh" or something like that
