I've have several pairs over tha last 30+ years and all have worn well. Gucci has some good shoes, you just have to pick and choose

. Avoid or minimize the Gucci logo and never, never pay more that 50% of retail.

Gucci copied this model by Berluti and Berluti took them to court.

Gucci makes beautiful shoes. Do not allow people who can't afford them to tell you otherwise.

They make a few keepers, but mostly fashion shoes. Cost has nothing do with some folks not liking Gucci shoes. Many of the shoes posted on SF retail for 2 or 3 times the price of Gucci shoes.

Branding? What the hell are you talking about? The fact that they included the brand name on the bottom of the sole!?

I see people saying $500 shoes suck, and to buy the $300 shoes when on sale for $150. This leads me to believe people advocate what they own. That $150 is better than $500.

Lol @ all the Gucci fanboys who can't handle the truth about the price/quality ratio of their shoes. For the full retail price of those you could pretty much afford get Vass or G&G, which would completely blow out of the water anything Gucci make.

i have two pairs of Gucci shoesthat I bought pre-SF, both are rather casual but I have no issues with them as I bought them on sale from Bluefly.

I have had these loafers for two years now and paid a couple hundred for them. They fit and look alright but I don't think I like them enough to resole them once they wear out. They are blake stiched:

These I bought this fall to have a fall-ish boot. They are casual with their rubber soles but I paid around $200 on sale. They are decent, have a pleasent last and are leather lined:

That being said, my C&J Handgrade, EG, Ferragamo, and even my BB store brand shoes blow them out of the water as far as quality goes. I have never owned their dress shoes though so they may be better.

I also would not pay retail for them.

If that were only the case, I can see you would think I was overreacting. But alas, even my sole pair of Gucci's, otherwise SF, have "Gucci" in its unique cursive script written on the Heelcap. It's branded.

And othertimes they get creative:

Does Edward Green have a fairly conspicuous silver "EG" on the upper heelcap? It's branding, adds nothing to the quality of the shoe, and is designed as a would-be status symbol for the wearer.
