So, just some background -- I'm 25 years old, bride is the same age. We're going for a very light, semi-casual theme (the bride's dress is very simple -- no beading, tiarra, or any of that cheesy crap). We wanted our color scheme to be light green and light pink (the little flower girl will be wearing a light green dress with little pink decorative flowers, flowers will be light pink, etc.).

I'm wearing a black Italian 3 button suit (fairly low stance for 3 buttons -- shows off a nice bit of shirt and tie). We've been debating about the shirt and tie. One option is to use a white shirt with a striped tie integrating the color schemes. Another option is a light green gigham check shirt (and I'm not sure what kind of tie would be best with that -- stripes, solid?), and I currently own a brand new Ike that fits the bill perfectly.

Would you go with the white or the check? My sense is that the check would be "different" and colorful, but I think that our parents might roll their eyes with anything but white. I think that the advice on this board, however, is infinitely better.

Thanks for the advice. I tend to agree wholeheartedly. I hadn't thought of shepard's check. I take a look at that style of tie.

Good call on the "florist's creations" too.
