Grey suit - shirt query

Hi

I have just ordered a light grey suit white white lapel and buttons, this is for the evening of a wedding i am attending

usually if i was to wear a light grey suit i would go for a white shirt and a white pocket hankiechief

Do you think this will be to much as the suit has the white lapel, if so what other colour shirts do you think may go?

Ugh, that's a really odd coat; though the 'Carrot Fit' (wtf?) trousers are even worse. I cannot imagine this to be wearable in any way other than casually like it is illustrated on the website, and I would certainly not wear it to a wedding.

i didnt order the carrot trousers, just standard flat front trousers, i know its not the best quality, but could anybody recommend anywhere then where i could get a suit thats a little different from the norm....

If you want to stand out, do 'the norm' impeccably well.

Perfect fit, quality materials and good contrast of colours in the tie, square and shirt.

Your not going to look good in the linked suit which appears to be a bastardisation of a dinner jacket with the contrast lapels and jacket that stops an inch below your belt.

Suits should ideally be made from wool (linen and cotton also fine) and should never contain manmade materials. The fit should also be classic, (read: not fashion forward, no carrot fit trousers) the jacket should cover your behind.

+1 +1 +1 Even a decent fitting, inexpensive, fused wool suit from the middle to lower bar manufacturers, tailored well, will get the OP all the "stand out" attention he needs at someone else's wedding and for the right reasons. Heck, get a JosABank -anything- and it'll be better than this. Don't be the guy that people remark on, years later in pictures, as the trendy doofus with the white "look at me!" lapels.
