Do you think a light to medium grey grenadine (garza fina) works as a formal tie? I fear it might be too informal because of the surface.

Problem is I really like the idea of dark blue suit, white shirt, silver tie as formal ensemble but I really, really hate almost all silver (shiny) ties one can find.

    Thoughts?

How about a traditional wedding tie in grey glen plaid?

Wow, someone who joined earlier than me and still has a lot less posts... didn't think that was possible.

Nice tie, but something totally different in my mind.
