How do Grensons fit in general? Somewhat difficult to tell what those shoes look like based on the way they're shot.

Oddly, a pair of brown captoes in size 9 turn into different shoes entirely when you click the thumbnail. The right pair shows up for a couple of seconds, but then the picture changes to a non-Masterpiece pebble grain pair in size 7.5. In case anyone wants the Masterpiece version, Bennies has the smooth grain pictured in the thumb in size 9B -- or did when I called a few minutes ago.

They're also hoping to get some more later this year, I was told.

Fit, Doc? A 9 is a 9 is a 9?

What IDs a pair as Masterpiece level in the samples shown? Original retail price?

Thanks,

I usually wear a 9 or 9.5D, depending on the shoe. The 9.5D in the Masterpiece captoes is too large for me, and I had to list a beautiful pair in the sales forum not long ago. Most folks say they run fairly true to size.

Pricing is your best clue to what's what -- both the original retail price and the Bennies price. Usually Bennies marks the Masterpieces at $250.

I'm a 10 and there's nothing in my size that catches my eye.

Too bad, some nice deals.

Cheers,

I'm not certain that the $600 regular/$250 sale price models are actually of Masterpiece quality. I called about one model ($600/$250) I was interested in and had the rep at Bennie's get the shoe and describe it to me. They (Model #23524, dark brown 3-eyelet apron-toe ankle boot) did not have closed-channel soles, but rather were stitched aloft (unlike the Paul Stuart Stuart's Choice models--that were of Masterpiece quality--Bennie's had on sale last April). I suspect that these may have came from somewhere other than Paul Stuart, or if from PS, were from a lower line.

Nice catch, Roger. Definitely worth checking before ordering. But does PS have differing quality lines?

If these aren't PS, I wonder where they came from, and how Bennies arrived at the pricing. I noticed they have some at $250 and some for significantly less, the same setup as before.

A lot of shoes from the last Bennie's sale were from the "Rose Collection." I'm not a fan of that last although they're still nice shoes.

Hi....I took over "Chris" at Bennie's. We are trying to get our hands on more Grensons. I did put up all the Grensons we had left over. I don't know if we will be getting anymore or not. Paul Stuart saw how we did with them and I think they are keeping them all, but if we can get them y'all will be the 1st to know.
