Does anyone have any recent experience with Grenson's shoe recrafting service? I wondered if they can still recraft a Rose collection/Masterpiece shoe to it's original standards since their curent new shoes are of horrible quality.

I've asked them by e-mail if they will use the same high quality materials when recrafting Rose/Masterpiece shoes but I haven't received a reply which kind of worries me.

I have gotten the PS masterpieces recrafted by Grenson on 3 occasions. They have done an excellent job each time. That being said, I haven't used the service in about 18 months.

Yes indeed, I was wondering if anyone has experience with them after the Tim Little takeover. Judging their new line they are cutting costs by using lower quality leather for instance.

I ordered some Fred boots 6 months ago that were of horrible quality: Leather had spots and scars and wrinkles like mad.

So, I was wondering if they are also cutting costs on replacement products like soles and heels etc.

With regret, Grenson has been off the menu for me some time now.

Masterpiece range was simply wonderful, these then became reserved for private label work, mainly for the US. The 'Rose' range was more than respectable and for it's price offered great value, sadly these have become scarce now and from what I've read from knowledgeable sources here at SF production ceased a while back.

What we are left with is either the sub par offerings you have experienced or the upper tier un-inspiring, overly priced G range.

It would be great if Grenson started making the quality shoes it produced not so long ago, once again - the market could certainly do with more competition & the consumer with more choice.
