I was thinking about getting a pair last summer from Paul Stuart, but when i was finally ready to plunk down the cash last month they were gone, it seems they have been removed from the line-up. Does anyone know if they discontinued this model? I believe they only came in brown and had a butterfly type strape (not monk) at the top of the vamp. Any help would be great.

They cleared out several pairs at the Bennies sale recently. Because the Masterpieces were commissioned by Paul Stuart, if the company no longer offers them, you might be out of luck. I'd call PS, and check the Bennies page on the off-chance they have them in your size: benniesshoes.com/grenson.htm

Hmm. I obviously missed that one. It doesnt seem like they had the ones im talking about, unless those sold quickly. Never mind my 9.5D They dont have them in any sizes. I will try to call Paul Stuart tommorow and find out if they perhaps have a last pair sitting under a shelf somewhere

Unfortunately, Bennies did offer at least one pair of the butterflies in 9.5D, but they flew out of there. Most of the laceups and the butterflies in common sizes were gone in the first 10 minutes of the sale. At this point, I doubt Bennies is likely to see any returns.

You might keep an eye on eBay in case any turn up there.

6 or 6.5 UK, G or H fitting---it limits my possibilites quite a bit.

In any case, I'll agree the Grensons are a little cleaner. Curiously Flusser had a pair of the bespoke New & Lingwoods that he just sold on eBay...
