So, I keep hearing how incredibly great grenadine silk ties are and I'm ready to plunge in and buy a couple (like, say, navy, burgundy, and gold.. or whatnot).

Can anybody suggest an online source? My local menswear shops didn't seem to know what I was talking about. :p

I've seen this style at Nieman Marcus and Saks in Brioni and Valentino, but never knew what pattern/fabric weave it was. Now, I know and may pick up a few.

thanks for the info.

By the Way Brioni are selling for $90 at Nieman Marcus in this style.

Also, two English sources:

Harvie and Hudson
http://www.harvieandhudson.com/product.phtml?id=144

Turnbull and Asser
http://store.turnbullandasser.co.uk/Ties/Grenadine

*for some reason, T & A will not sell to the US through their website. They will, however, ship from the London store if you call them.

Long time lurker.
I bought grenadine ties from Ezio Pellicano in Rome (off the Pantheon; mentioned here and also at AAAC) but am not sure whether I should recommend him because even though the ties that he has shipped to me are nice however I am a little bit annoyed that the construction is rather pedestrian and not the 6 folds as expected from a customizable source. Each tie cost 80 EUR plus shipment.

Paul Stuart has them as well. I bought one in Navy earlier this summer. A little more pricy than Hober, but it's a good tie nonetheless.

T&A in New York (and probably Beverly Hills) usually has them in stock.

What about cheaper grenadines?

Does anyone sell less-great grenadines at a lower price point?

I bought a navy grenadine Hickey tie from Bluefly a while back for a reasonable price, but I doubt that it's still in stock.
