OK, I signed up a couple of days ago and got dared by the forum itself to post with this:

Hello unbelragazzo - our records indicate that you have never posted on the forum!

So here goes. I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks in Charleston. In case you don't know, Charleston is hot this time of year. Anyway I'm considering my outfit for the rehearsal dinner. I got this suit on eBay, the jacket of which is currently being tailored:

As you can see from the pics, there's only one belt loop...I suppose this is a suggestion to not wear a belt at all, but I'm considering trying to do a colorful tied or d-ring type belt, perhaps for instance this:

Although I haven't found too many of these types of belts out there...thoughts? If you like the belt and suit combo above, what do you suggest for a tie/shirt? Thanks in advance for all comments!

I think a ribbon belt is much too casual for a suit like that and I don't see how it would stay in place around your waist with only a single belt loop. Go beltless.

That kind of a belt is a nautical belt which is far too coarse for such a suit.

That single loop is something I haven't come across before. Are you sure there is only one? I would have thought the normal thing to wear is something like an inch wide black leather dress belt. Otherwise don't wear a belt.

Ah, yes, I hadn't realized that the belt I linked was so coarse and thick. I'm really thinking of something more like this:

Except a different color and no pattern...maybe even something like a yellow. Just a splash of color in the middle of the suit, serving a similar purpose as a cummerbund on tuxedo. Even a tie would serve the purpose were it skinny enough.
