I read the previous thread about Greenfield on Gilt, and how they were misrepresenting MSRP, etc. I don't particularly care about that and have just two questions re: their tux:

1. How does the fit compare to my RLBL suits? If I'm a 40R in RLBL, should I do 40R or 38R in MG, and will the fit be at all comparable?

2. Regardless of the fake MSRP, is that tux on there worth $1,048, and would you pay that for it if it independent of the brand/seller?

sort of answers question 1, from the previous Greenfeld thread:

I had my tailor let out the waist and seat a tad and they are still snug at the hips (not enough for me to be uncomfortable at all though), but then again I'm used to true slim fits being a frequenter of the SW&D side. I like the material and I feel that they are a good pair of quality well made pants. Nice, deep front and lined pockets, etc. They certainly aren't the holy grail of pants, but they are what I would expect a pair of pants to be at the price they were listed for during the sale. I'm thinking that the mainline Greenfield pants are in a whole different bracket, but having no personal experience I can't really speak to that with any facts.

Question 2, only you can answer it. To some people, 1K purchase requires a lot of thought, to others, not so much. If this is going to be your one tux and you have 1K+ to spend, I would much rather buy something in person, most likely made to order.
