I would advise against cargo pants. They almost always make you look baggy and disheveled, especially if you put things in the pockets. Maybe a pair of chinos instead?

Cargos good. They'll be back. Heed my words.

German or Dutch army Moleskin drab if you want surplus (awesome slim, simple tapered fits and totally the real thing - great green/grey color too). I've owned dozens:

If you want new, don't do those pocket tie-downs unless you're a raver, and look for tapered, not those flared-looking bootcuts.

maybe it's that I have yet to see a good-looking pair of cargo pants. I don't deny that they might be out there.

Vintage m-65 cargos are a sure bet aswell, even though def. on the baggy side.
