Okay, I'll allow this for the time being since this is actually related to streetwear (I checked out your site,) and you seem sincerely interested in the forum. Welcome. I hope that you enjoy yourself and will contribute.

However, you should know in general that shilling (i.e. unpaid advertising for any company) is generally to be confined to the buying and selling section, which is not meant for generally advertising, but for advertising of specific items or sales, so no more.

I've also edited your post (put the shill at the end).

Shilling is more when someone comes on pretending to be excited about something when they are really advertising. This guy [edit- or girl, sorry] was pretty upfront about it, so I'm fine with that.

Nice to have you aboard, milan - hope to see more from you in the future.

milan, mostly we just learn as much as we can because our appreciation for denim is ever-growing. At least a few of us care more about our jeans than any other article of clothing, and so the more you know, the higher chances you have of finding good jeans. That said, I don't personally know of anyone who currently works in the industry, but it's quite possible that no one's really talked about it yet.

No - they're just freaks. In fact, most of the people on this board are amazingly knowledgable about clothes. I challenge anyone to find more or better information on shoe construction than that on this board.

Actually, there a a number of people on the board who are industry people, including some in the more streetwear side of things. They generally wish to remain incognito, however, and we respect that. Mainly, we're just freaks though.

    Milan -

    Welcome aboard.

Your website is quite interesting. I would have never thought of the transformation of Eastern Europe as inspiration for a line of clothing - very cool how you've done that.

If you are talking about the street influence, not so much. The military thing is pretty much a cliche though - check of the line "Soviet". Also check out the the military collections of F/W 2000-2001, especially that of Jil Sander.

I agree that the website is interesting, however.

wa [IMG] thanks for the warm welcome it<s nice to hear some good comments it keeps u going ----dame hard the fashion industry anyways For fall we did not do jeans because the consumers are very brand orientated when it comes to buying jeans and our label it<s not their yet in terms of recognition Although I want to try again for spring 06 and this is how I end up here In fact, I was doing my research on new denim fabrics and washes( especially japaneese ones) Any suggestions from the hardcore denim fans will be greatly appriciated. I agree with you // contructivism, communism etc.. has been an inspiration for many western designers. My case is a bit different though . For me it<s more like a nostalgy thing going on .I was actually an Young Pionner ones ( I,m born in Bulgaria). Anyways, all this theme started when I participated in a contest in Shanghai fashion week. The theme of the contest was to show the transformation of modern China . Therefore I designed 12 couture pieces: the first one was the actual pionner uniform. Afterwords i deconstructed the uniform till it became an american flag huge jacket:) I used same theme to make some wearable pieces as the one you sew on the site. The fall line is completly different theme though -- it<s the opposite actully --- very corporate its about geneticaly modified products that are commercialised by an imaginary corporation called nucleus labs :) [IMG]

Milan my advice is to not get too esoteric about denim if you're only doing women's clothing. Fit and wash is much more important than it is for men.
