I found a possible source for excellent prices on contoured wood suit hangers.

http://store.storesupply.com/webapp/...&cgrfnbr=92811

You can get them either in natural finish with silver hardware, or walnut finish with brass hardware. The picture on the site is very small, but when I saw the actual larger catalog photo the hangers looked quite nice. At about 79 cents a piece for contoured wood suit hangers and 58 cents a piece for outerwear hangers, the price seems right. Group buy?

Not sure, it was hard to tell from the photos.

I'd call them. I just placed an order for a men's suit form and wooden stand to use for photography, and the customer service was top-notch. No waiting, the girl knew all the answers, and shipping is fast and reasonable.

if they are to be any good they must curve foreward at the ends. thats the natural shoulder curve. also some width on the supporting surface so that the shoulders do not break down.

no, no no-- THIS is the source for hangers, gentlemen!!

My box of ten are waiting at the wife's place until i return from overseas. I can't imagine a better hanger, as they were designed by a forum member. If I'm not mistaken, Kirbya tracked down the company that makes them for Oxxford Clothes.

You're correct on all counts. I bought 10 and they're very, very nice. For $15 each (shipped) kirbya's hangers are a factor of 20 more expensive than those in the OP, but cheaper than Oxxford's quoted price of $35 each. They're also contoured and flared at the shoulders, as "a tailor" points out as a requirement for quality suit hangers.
