Hi

I have got a gray/grey chalk striped DB suit made recently and for some reason am unable to figure what tie and PS to pair with it. It is a bit surprising to me also as my standard suit is a plain grey SB suit. However, something about the stripes and DB together is baffling me.

My camera has gone for repair so unable to post a pic but the cloth is quite similar to this.

Please post a pics of grey chalk stripes (both SB and DB) suits worn well for me to get some DTO style inspiration.

I know this kind of question can (in the words of goon member) best be answered by members GoogleSearch and SearchFunction, but I am feeling very lazy. As such, many thanks to those who choose to post pics.
.

In case members are feeling especially generous with their help and time, could they select 2 combinations from these ties and pocket squares to wear with light blue and white shirts.

Thanks

You put the pants on one leg at a time... Ties? I tend to think that a nice deep burgandy goes quite well with gray, and would look nice with either color shirt. I have one with a orange and brick diamond pattern on it that would go nicely. Earthy browns and greens, perhaps. Something like this? I think the trick is going to be to stay away from very clear, harsh patterns on the tie. Softness in the color and pattern will compliment the boldness of the pinstripes where a bright, harsh pattern would simply clash. Dots, paisleys, perhaps plaids, whatever those minuture patterns like ducks are referred to as... I really don't see a whole lot of those louder HY ties working. I'm thinking more along the lines of Brooks Brothers's tie aesthetic, really. Something along the lines of this.
