Gravati? Worth the

    money? Do they hold up compared to other shoes in the $400-$500 range? Anyone out there try Barrett Shoes?

    I like them. I posted pictures of my pair recently. They are constructed well, and comfortable to wear.

    A warning though - they tend to use really soft and supple leather that would get destroyed in winter. Perfectly fine for the other three seasons.

    I too was impressed with how supple Gravati's leather is. Almost glove soft, at least in my experience.

    I currently have three pair of Gravatis-black wholecuts, brown peccary chuckas, and some cola suede split-toes. I'll echo the others and say that they are very soft and supple (especially the peccary) and none of them required any breaking in. I don't think that they will be as hard wearing as Aldens or many of the English brands in the same price range but I'm willing to sacrifice some durability for their comfort and their style.

    p.s. I have worn the chuckas (combination sole) in the rain several times with no ill effects.
