Grapevine Hill is frustrating

    I placed an order for the RL Martino Chukkas for $111. It was accepted and two days later they said it was a mistake and the shoe does not exist.

    That's the last time I'll order anything from them.

    I've had consistently excellent service from them. I've bought several shoes from them with no problems at all, and they graciously accepted a return.

    I don't get it. They made a mistake. You lost nothing. It's frustrating, but one bad experience, which doesn't sound all that bad, doesn't ruin a reputation for pretty darn good service.

    I see it as an unacceptable mistake. It will take 3-4 days to return my money. We'll see if I get my refund it time. I don't care about the money it's the fact I wasted my time in ordering these shoes and got nothing in return. There's an opportunity cost and they wasted my time - I could used that 20 minutes elsewhere instead of wasting time buying vapor goods.

    Please, that's happened with Sierra Tradingpost too. I bought an Isaia suit. I was sent just the jacket. They then told me they didn't have the pants, please send back the jacket.

    Opportunity cost? Please let us know in terms of a dollar amt what this amounts to be.
    I've ordered from GVH a couple of times. Once they accidentally send just one shoe. I called and they sent me a new pair right away even before I shipped mine back and overnighted them free of charge.
    Mistakes happen. Get over it.

    I take it you don't shop online often? This happens all the time, especially with smaller boutiques.

    I thought there was going to be a punchline -- that the shoes were relisted later at a higher price or somesuch. But accidents happen. I've had Brooks, for example, cancel more than one of my orders. If you find the possibility unacceptable, online shopping is not the way to go.

    That reminds of what they try to teach me at university.
    If I had a buying experience that would remind me of that stuff I certainly would blow up the joint.

    MY first order with them was for my first pair of EGs . They had a mixup and sent the wrong shoes. I returned the shoes, but the EGs were gone[​IMG] . Several months later they received more EGs (RLPL). Because of their previous mixup, they gave me an extra 25% discount on my new EG order. [​IMG] Since then I have purchased several shoes, all w/o problems.
