I forgot how awesome these things were. I've gone through 6 of them in the past 2 days. Yum.

I've always found it interesting that they are called "grapefruit" yet bear no resemblance whatsoever in taste, smell, appearance, wine production, or eye-burning ability to "grapes".

Several people have called me strange when they see me peel and eat a grapefruit the same way I peel and eat an orange.

I wouldn't call it strange, but I prefer to cut it. The problem with eating it like an orange is that the inner membranes that divide the pieces are much thicker and kinda bitter.

Probably my second favorite fruit after lemons.

I can eat lemons like people eat oranges.

Seriously? You've got some fucked-up mouth chemistry going on there, boy. I love lemon, but i've never eaten one like an orange.

I can eat lemons like an orange... Haven't done it in over 5 years though since I heard that it's too acidic and can cause damages to the gums. I didn't follow through and research that though.

I any event, I love ruby grapefruits. Kinda late to get into though, isn't it? Grapefruit season is almost over, unfortunately. I also love tangelos, sort of like an offspring of the grapefruit.

I use a fair amount of grapefruit in salads, but haven't ever really taken to eating them on their own.

I like to eat lemons, especially when my hands are cut.

Asian grapefruit > American grapefruit. (The giant yellow/green ones)

I love the traditional yellow grapefruit over the more common ruby red variety. They keep trying to breed ruby red strains to be sweeter and sweeter.

They're called grapefruits because they grow in bunches like grapes.

Just be careful if you're on meds. Grapefruit can mess with absorption of some.

Have I ever said anything to make you think that I might be on medication?
