@GrantStone Can you give us a general idea on what and when as it relates to new releases for EEE (2020)? I want to make sure I have funds available so I don't miss out on something I want in my size.

Edge dressing question. I know a lot of you love the contrast between the upper and the lighter colored welt and edge, but has anyone tried to darken from the more natural leather color to a darker, more antique look? This would be more like a transparent dark stain rather than a thick brown old school edge dressing. Thanks for any thoughts.

We have tried quite a few over-the-counter edge stain products and I've never really loved them for a couple reasons. It's most common to find only a black and brown option. The brown is usually too dark to use on our soles but the main issue is the pigmented, paint look versus the transparent stain that still shows the grain underneath.

I could be wrong but it seems difficult to find a good stain that is used on the factory level for personal use. The stains we use are produced in larger containers, made to our spec.

Some years ago I bought a Trickers wingtip in the acorn leather. Always loved this pattern. The outsole edge looked more like red paint so I stripped it and used the antique stain instead. IMO, this would be pretty difficult to do with any of the edge dressing we have tried.

When we touch up shoes at the warehouse or personal pairs, we have always found that certain shoe creams and polishes do a great job at restoring color yet keeping that rich depth.

The upper is butter! I expected the sole to be stiff and I am impressed because I feel it's the mark of a quality outsole. :)

Thank you again, looking forward to getting more in the future.

Really glad to hear this. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info and you touched on my exact concern that it would look too paint-like rather than transparent. I will learn to like the contrast :)

What color of PTB would you guys recommend to pair with these? Black or Crimson? They'll be worn with Banana Republic Slim Chinos in khaki, navy, olive, light grey, charcoal and caramel. I've never been a big black shoe guy but would that be the best choice?

I would say either would work, but I would personally lean towards the crimson.

Self restraint is...

...going home for lunch and seeing the Grant Stone box on your doorstep as you leave, but not opening it because you're already running late to get back to the office.

I'd say Crimson as well if staying with a the PTB, otherwise I'd say Crimson or Bourbon Suede in a longwing.

The British Tan longwings would work well with most of those as well. For a slightly dressier look. I wear mine a lot.

They would work well and are nice looking shoes. Was the criteria PTB? Or any GS offering, because if any, boots work with EVERYTHING! (except perhaps a suit)

Sold the Black PTB shoes that were listed on the GS B/S/T thread. So far I'm the only one who has listed anything, and sold it all. There will, at some point, be a secondary market for GS, but I encourage everyone to buy 1sts if they can!

PTB just looks better with chinos. Was thinking Crimson PTB and Nat CXL Diesels.

So glad you are enjoying them. We saw a great response with the midnight ottawa release and we will try to do more fun, small runs like this in 2020. If you need an alternative navy lace, please DM us and we can send you a pair.

I still think an ivorysuede Diesel or Ottawa would be awesome, just putting that out there.
