Giving company to my Trickers. Well matched brothers from two sides of the pond. Similar build and construction, but the Trickers seem even more tank like to be honest. So, if one is used to wearing Trickers, GS does not come across as too heavy or clunky at all.

The leather sole on the Ottawa seems pretty flexible, unlike what some members have mentioned on this thread.

Lovely boots both of those! Trickers are definitely more a heavyweight style than GS, in the English tramping boot tradition.

My 8.5E GS longwings on leather are pretty flexible, but my 7.5EEE veg tans are a bit of a different story, being almost as wide as they are long ?.

OK, dammit, who snagged the black CXL belt in size 30? I thought I might be the only one skinny enough to wear that size around here!

How is Tricker's sizing compared to Grant Stone? I was planning on getting a pair of Stow boots sooner or later. 9.5D brannock but more comfortable in 9E and 8EEE than Grant Stone Leo 9D. Was thinking UK 8.5 for a 4497 last Stow?

8.5 in Trickers should fit just fine. The Stows fit pretty true to size , so a size down from Brannock should work well.

This sounds right. 8.5, 4497 last should be right. I am an 8 in the 4497 last, and 8.5E in the Leo is best for me.

The Bourbon Ottawas in 9 E are here! I need to lace them quite tight (I like a very snug fit), so I think a half size down in the same width is a better size for a snug fit. Any suggestions on this point from the pics of the boots on my feet?

There is about 1.3 inches of room in front of the toe, with lot of toebox room. The widest part of the foot matches the widest part of the boot. A very tiny bit of heel slip, almost negligible. Overall a good fit, if laced tight.

Perhaps someone more expert than me will chime in but from the pics they look pretty good to me!! Room in front of the toes is all good I’d say if the wide part of your foot is hitting in the right spot so I wouldn’t worry about that. Those soles are quite stiff at first so if you have negligible heel slip now then once they break in a little it should be gone.

Nice looking boots! Makes me think I need some… Anyway I’d check with the GS people since they’re awesome, so on the off chance they don’t have a chance to respond here I’d send them an email.

Loafer in loden suede. Tight across the vamp but wanted to err on snug side thinking of summer wear (though my wife might be horrified by the sockless loafer look); a little stretch and softening up and I should be good hopefully. Really like the suede though - it’s sort of grey green brown depending on light (grey being predominant).

Looking forward to pics of the forest kudu boots, do post some. It's a bit of a left wing choice and not many seem to have picked them up. Love the color but I'm personally not a fan of the kudu leather (for wearing myself) and so did not consider picking them up. Eager to see some pics of your pair!

on the first photo the color is super.

Those are great! My wife would make endless fun of me if I did wear socks with loafers, lol. California thing I guess.
