@audog Can you share your thought between rubber and leather sole form GS?

The leather sole, while requiring a bit of break in, in fact maybe a lot of break-in as it is so good, is simply more comfortable to walk in (IMHO). I find the rubber sole, which is akin to Dainite, a less comfortable sole for my feet. Kind of a Princess and the Pea thing. I can actually feel the rubber "nibs" or whatever they are called. I find that they do not "break in" and become as flexible as a good leather sole, and GS has a superb leather sole, one of the best. It is a personal preference, and I do not want anyone to avoid purchase of a pair because "Audog said so", if one prefers rubber then go for it. I prefer leather.

The GS leather sole is awesome, I have a pair of Dune Diesel boots pushing 4(?) yrs now and they have a lot of miles, even been wet and are just starting to show wear, I figure another 3-4 yrs before considering resole. Of course, my rotation is a bit larger than the average shoe/boot consumer.

Go for it, you won't be disappointed. You should be aware, that until broken in, they are kind of like walking on 2X4's, not much flex, but once broken in....mmmmmmmmm

I like how the leather sole looks on boots.. i am waiting for Black Diesel Boot to be back in Stock in my Size(9.5E)
