The leather sole, while requiring a bit of break in, in fact maybe a lot of break-in as it is so good, is simply more comfortable to walk in (IMHO). I find the rubber sole, which is akin to Dainite, a less comfortable sole for my feet. Kind of a Princess and the Pea thing. I can actually feel the rubber "nibs" or whatever they are called. I find that they do not "break in" and become as flexible as a good leather sole, and GS has a superb leather sole, one of the best. It is a personal preference, and I do not want anyone to avoid purchase of a pair because "Audog said so", if one prefers rubber then go for it. I prefer leather.@audog Can you share your thought between rubber and leather sole form GS?
