First time in the long wings all year, likely for over a year. If you don’t have a pair of GS’ in British Tan calf, you are missing out.

Not yet but I will post some when the new sample comes in!

It will be on a rubber sole.

Thank you so much!! Certainly a new chapter in life :)

Man... I love those penny loafers. Need to nail down my GS size soon!
Yeah - these are great. I actually wasn't a loafer guy until these. (Now have a couple GS pairs).

I was very concerned they'd be tight or small, but the Alexander last at 1/2 down from my Brannock offers a tailored-but-not-tight fit that I really dig. I even manage to wear them sockless, which I hadn't done before.

I really like my British tan cap toe boots, and would wear them more often if they had a leather sole...this IS NOT a slam of the GS rubber sole, just my personal preference in soles.

What do you prefer about leather soles? I've always avoided them given the random weather in the Mid-Atlantic.

@audog Can you share your thought between rubber and leather sole form GS?

I find them more comfortable, I'm in the midwest and have pretty lousy weather as well, so will wear rubber soles during that. I find Dainite, and it's clones, uncomfortable and not as good in inclement weather as a commando or lug sole. Leather is just more comfortable to walk in for me.
