I didn’t like Ottawa’s when I first saw them, but now I think they’re the style I’m most envious of. Only have one pair so far.
When I first saw the Ottawa and Alden tankers I thought they looked ugly, but they're in my top 2-3 now. I do wish the Ottawa boots would get some Waxy Commander makeups and wouldn't mind the loden or tan suede on the Ottawa or cap toe, but it seems the focus has been more on plain toes lately. I'm sure Grant Stone will release some new variation I need sometime next year. The earth Waxy Commander in particular would look really cool on a split toe design.

I may have an oddball pair, but the color of the current pebble grain Ottawa run seems quite different from the original. No complaints from me - I like both colors. I only bought the current pair b/c of the difference. (I somehow remembered the originals being called "crimson", which is wrong. They too were called "cognac".)

I'll post a side-by-side shot when I get a chance.

I miss my original pair - they were a great weather boot. I've considered getting a new pebbled and seeing how they looked after going over them with some cordovan cream polish and maybe a pass with black as well.
Same. Up to three pairs currently, plus a Tanker from Alden.

Yeah - I have...several... (pretty evenly split between GS and Alden), plus shell Indy's that have the handsewn toe. I love the handsewn spit-toe look.

What are Grant Stone Black Friday sales usually like? I'm eyeing a few pairs but not sure if I should wait until the end of the month.

We will have a BF promotion starting 11/13 although the details are not completely ironed out. It will involve a discount when spending over $400. If you are looking for a couple of pairs, I would suggest waiting until 11/13!

@Turns31 - As requested, an (iPhone) photo of the Maduro in full, direct sunlight vs shade. This pre-order is still scheduled, just a small delay in materials so it should be held in the next couple of weeks.

What will the return policy be for a Black Friday "Sale/Event"?

The "sale" policy on your website that only allows for exchanges or store credit for returns?
Or the "standard" policy that allows for a full refund?

As a newbie to GS, I am not sure I have the time to figure out my correct size but also do not want to worry about not getting a refund if I order at least 2 pair and for some reason GS shoes just do not work for me. With a wide forefoot, narrow heel, and low volume I have been told by several people I am not an easy person to fit.

Thanks!

Told ya. They greenish brown works well with tan colored boots.
Your suggestion was great. I bought two pairs. The other pair is on my forest kudu boots since I figured these laces would go well with the dark green boots. Will report back in a day or two when I wear them.

On any A-grade shoes, we will allow refunds. That should apply for the promotion as well.

Forest kudu with the brown viberg laces.

Overall I’m happy with both these and the stock laces for both the forest kudu and British tan. Just depends how waxy you like your laces. The Alden brown seems too dark for both of these models. Might work well with the chocolate brown cap toes.
