I like Grant Stone's rubber sole, but next time I get something that comes with a leather sole or have a pair that needs a replacement sole guard I'm thinking of trying the Vibram 2724 or something similar. Seems like it would work out well.

I'm a bit wary of that sole too but living in Vancouver, I have to. My experience with the Dainite clone from Meermin is that it could get slippery. Do you think a leather sole with topy will be better? For sure, a commando sole should be the best
Dainite CAN be slippery, so can leather however. Have no experience with leather and a topy, but it would seem to be a good combination of both leather and rubber. I'm in Illinois USA and have plenty of snow/ice in winter. I just don't wear the leather sole GS when the weather is "slippery". But Dainite and the micro stud soles just are not as comfortable to me.

The final sales are usually only like 1-2 available. Once they’re sold out, they’re not available at that discounted price. I believe they commented about this a few pages back.

We do this all the time at my work to trim down inventory.
Got it, thanks for clarifying!

Using various Dainite clones I haven’t really experienced slipping. However, any shoe I do buy, with the exception of dress shoes, are rubber. I live on east coast of Canada and it’s just a no brainer. Tried leather in the winter, almost slid every step lol

Leather on snow/ice is not a good choice, I just don't wear my leather sole footwear when there is a chance of snow/ice.

I've found Dainite VERY slippery, and worse when cold (compound gets hard).

My pebbled leather Ottawas saw more than a week of rain when I first got them, and they were fine. I'm sure I wore them in cold/damp/snow, but don't remember any problems. I prefer leather, but the studded sole doesn't do anything that makes me not like it. I hate pretty much everything about Dainite.

They might be somewhat redundant color-wise with the crimson diesels but man... these moved up a lot on my list. They look awesome.
I saw the black CXL Ottawa was added to the EEE options. While it doesn't show as in stock at the moment that could be another great option. The edge color really makes that particular makeup.

Yeah, my list is the Black Ottawa, Crimson Ottawa, and Bourbon Diesel, not sure the order.

Of course, I have Storm Kudu Ottawas and Loden Diesels coming today and next month, respectively. So probably just need to hold off, ha.

Hi Grant Stone. I'm planning out my purchasing plans for the fall and would love to give you my money. Are there any new releases coming soon? I'm particularly interested in the Edward. Also, ANY chance the chelsea will be available in E widths any time soon? Thanks.

I hope your UPS guy is better than mine, when I am not waiting, he comes in the morning, when it's GS boots about 5 PM :)

You are quite prescient; it's now 4pm and the UPS truck remains to be seen...

For those with Storm Kudu, are you using the stock leather laces or cotton? Or a different color?

Also, back to the subject of comfort...

I would clarify my previous comment about comfort out of the box. The footbed and tie box are (or should be) comfortable out of the box. The shaft is stiff at first, which I guess you could say is uncomfortable. And the heel counter is very hard, so I guess you could say that’s uncomfortable too. But that goes away very quickly.
