Still trying to figure out my Leo last sizing for my 11.5D feet (Brannock 11.25 HTB, 10.75 HTT, low volume, widest at toes)... Kim is confident that only 10.5E or 10EEE will work for these measurements. I tried 10.5E, and it felt too tight around the ball and toes (maybe because it was too short?). I tried 10EEE, and it felt too short and too wide with way too much room in the instep and heel.

It seems like customer service tends to recommend sizing down in length and sizing up in width, but based on my Brannock, I feel like I should try 11D or 11E... Does that sound plausible? Trying to decide whether to put in another order. For comparison, my Oak Street Elston last boots fit great in size 11.5.

Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences! I'd really love to find a Leo last size that's wearable.
Sure sounds like 11d to me

A couple of photos of the Dune/Natural CXL Bluchers. I felt like they deserved a good photoshoot before wearing them for the first time today. Hope y’all have a great weekend! 😌

Hi everyone, looking to order from grant stone for the first time. My htt is 8.5, htb 9, width between D/E. For the Brass Boot, would a better starting point be size 8D or 8E or 8.5D? For reference, I wear 8D in Wolverine 1k and they are snug but comfortable.

GS responds well to email, but as someone also between D/E I found the best fit to be sizing down 1/2 or 1 from brannock size and getting E.

As someone with somewhat similar shaped feet, I'd recommend at least an 11 D. When going down in size/up in width, I've had the same problem as you: The boot is too wide at the heel and instep. And I'd say there is much less wiggle with width than with length. Otherwise, the Leo last just may not work for you.

For the Brass, which is the Floyd last, I would have thought 8.5D (vs 8.5E), since it's a higher volume last and fits a little wider. Just remember, you only get 1 size exchange.

11D would have been the first thing I tried, and your experience with the others would tend to support that. "Low volume" may be what's working against you in terms of the recommendations, but I feel like you've tried the 'other sides' of the options, which point back to 11D IMHO. If it works other than having too much volume, that can be solved with pads or a thin insert.

I've received my first GS boot - brass boot in cxl. Sizing question. My brannock is 8.5 htt, 9 htb, E width. I got size 8E.

Length seems great as my ball is in the widest part. No heel slip at all. My question is around width. When laced up, should I be getting full closure if the width is correct? With medium socks fully laced up, I have about a half inch of gap in the closure.

My ball and pinky are touching the side walls, but not uncomfortably so (no pressure). Debating keeping these or trying 8.5E to give just a bit more room in width. Thx in advance.

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
