Hi Matt, you have sent me a separate email regarding this pair which we are going back and forth about now. As I mentioned in the email, this will not cause longevity/performance concerns and if it ever did, we would absolutely stand behind it and replace the pair. As you mentioned above, this is a pair your received B grade pricing on due to some of those issues. You and I have had a good dialogue about your sizing and pairs for the last couple of months, which you had seemed quite happy about, and I hope you do not feel I am misleading you.

When it comes to filtering reviews, we have a straight forward process. Low rated reviews are set to pending since most are not customers, as in they have never bought our products before, and say something along the lines of "who buys boots for $400", or bots.

When there are negative reviews from customers (absolutely happens and will continue), we always reach out to the customer and usually find a resolution to make sure this customer is happy. If not, we publish the review. We are aware nothing positive will come out of hiding a review from an upset customer and ignoring them. It would most likely be on a forum within a day, and this is not the type of business we want to run.

Our customer base is very in-tune with forums whether here, reddit or stitchdown. I have made a very conscious effort to do this, knowing if we did, it's essentially prompting customers to discuss our products somewhere we cannot moderate.
Now it seems that Grant Stone is filtering instagram comments. GS recently has been highlighting employees on their instagram page which I think is great but when I made a comment directly relating to the post saying their appears to be a lack of diversity at Grant Stone it was quickly deleted. On Grant Stones instagram page nearly every post if not all the post of employees, models and photographer lack people of color. Instead of addressing comment directly relating to the post Grant Stone simply deleted the comment.

Our social media manager, who is not Caucasian, filters comments at her discretion.

I see an Asian woman on the Grant Stone Ladies page quite often as well.

All for more diversity as Grant Stone continues to grow, but considering where the Michigan warehouse is located and the likely quite small number of employees I do not find a potential lack of diversity over there to be much of an issue..

I'm going to assume this was trolling.
Not trolling at all, I am actually a big fan of Grant Stone and own many pairs. I think the craftmanship is superb. I also believe diversity is a great thing. It was a simple observation of the grant stone instagram page that it appeared they lack diversity. Unfortunately just mentioning it angers some people. Thankfully not everyone gets so upset and people bring up great points like:

Don't want any more negativity here and hopefully like Erikdayo stated I hope there is more diversity as GS continues to grow.
Wish everyone the best!

He was hoping you were trolling because the alternative is... You land on calling someone racist? You get how ridiculous that sounds right? Yikes... Let's maybe take it down a notch.

On topic, looking forward to some new loafers! @ProfilaBinding I took the plunge on a pair. After I confirm solid fit I may or may not order 2 more loafers. I fear more presence on SF has reignited shoe and clothing purchases.

Someone else mentioned the storm kudu. If they had that in a PTB (they used to) or the Edward boot, it would be hard to pass for me.

Anyway, as long the last fits your foot shape, I think you'll love them. GS products in my experience tend to be stiff at first, but the support is great and the comfort gradually settles in. I found their leather soles to be quite comfortable out of the box.

I've seen one loafer show as being out of stock but offering EEE so that usually means it's coming before too long. Hope before this hot weather turns to fall and I'm back in boots.

The goods have arrived. First time trying a waxed flesh/waxed suede/whatever sort of leather. Initial impressions are that I’m not particularly fond of the leather, but this is an experiment. I wanted a second pair of black boots.

I think once they get a fair amount of wear and some of the nap starts showing through I will think more positively of the leather. At least based on a pair of black waxy commander Parkhurst boots I was able to find on Reddit. Should evolve into something I quite like.

As for the build quality I would say everything looks great as usual. No notable flaws. Have already walked a few miles in them now. Everything as expected.
