Got the color 8 CXL Diesel ordered this morning. I've been debating between the Diesel and Edward versions for a while. Tan Essex and black CXL are on the maybe someday list, but I would really like to keep my footwear collection very small.

Pics please! I do wish they would release the Ottawas in colour 8 CXL. The plain Toe diesel is somehow not up my alley (though they look good), prefer the slightly dressier tanker style.

Will do! I haven't been taking many pictures lately as I have been busy.

Tastes evolve over time. I'm actually liking plain toes more than I used to and liking the NST/tanker style less. That said I still really like the black CXL tanker. I think it's a great looking makeup with the brown edge and contrast stitching. I still love the look of Indy boots, but something about that little bit of extra stitching to make the split toe look takes away from the look for me.

Also looking forward to eventual Grant Stone wingtip and perforated cap toe boots! Those are more my style than plain toes, but I am not sure whether I will be bothered enough to 'upgrade' when those styles arrive. While plain toes are boring on their own they complement outfits well without drawing as much attention.

so after using vibergs shoe cream on my badalassi brass boots I don’t think I like the outcome …. They look fine, but they feel like shell now. Plasticy/sticky when you touch the leather. Makes me wonder if I clogged the pours in the leather with the product. Wish I would’ve used a product with more oil. Wouldn’t recommend. Just for some context I used a minimal amount of the product in hopes of conditioning the leather because i guess I somewhat beat it up?

now my boots are sticky and not smooth like they used to be with ofc grain break everywhere. Oh well

I guess I can’t do anything about the grain break that’s happening on my pair of brass boots can I?

I’ve actually seen a good amount of other peoples badalassi boots now and they never have grain break on them like mine do. Maybe they’re still new to them tho

Feel free to scroll through and look for pairs that are actually worn and not just put on display

I see a lot of them now with grain break. I did not want my boots to be labeled as “beaters” because I don’t even wear them like you’d think a beater would be worn. My pairs looking a little too beat up for my liking but it’s probably not irreversible at this point

You can’t reverse any grain break or creasing on any leather. It’s not a bug it’s a feature of leather

Yea well … I’d like to avoid grain break if possible. Creasing is inevitable. You’d be surprised some leathers don’t have a lot of grain break at all even with wear
