I don't use the term "Grail" lightly, but this stunning Madras jacket from Corbin definitely qualifies! Half-canvassed and fully lined, this beautioful jacket is perfectly made from patches of Indian madras fabric, and carries a "warning" noting that owing to the hand-woven nature of the fabric shade, weave, and yarn variations are to be expected! And the fabric is lovely-the soft, muted shades of madras whose complexity and subtle colouring is, like that of good Harris tweed, only really evident close-up. Yes, this is the madras jacket you want, especially since it was (fairly) recently Union Made in the USA by Corbin, one of the major manufacturers of old-school Ivy wear and one of the few left that doesn't (as far as I know) engage in any outsourcing at all. This jacket is that Ivy rarity, a two-button sack, and features three buttons on each cuff. It also has a single centre vent, and the lining in a lovely complemebntary dark cream colour; the buttons are translucent ivory white, and also match the jacket perfectly. The underside of the collar has a complementary blue lining to help it retain its shape.

This jacket is in excellent condition, except that it has some minor discolouration (maybe from cedar storage) on the lining, as shown, and two very faint and hard to find brown blemishes in madras squares on and near the left lapel, as shown. These are, though, very faint--I had trouble finding them this morning to photograph, and I knew they were there!

You might also like to know that a less versatile patchwork madras from Corbin that I had last year was chosen by CC to feature as the classic American jacket for the 4th of July on his wonderful "Ivy Style" blog (scroll down to see!) here:

Given the minor blemishes that this has, how about just $65 boxed and shipped in CONUS--OR LOWER OFFER?

Shoulder: 19 3/4
Length: 31 3/4
