If it was outdoors, then...white trousers, white shirt with thin stripes and either of those blazers.

If it's indoors, then don't wear that. Wear a blue suit with a "summery" tie and pocket square. Medium brown shoes.

A light grey suit can work well during the summer. You could wear a white, pink, lavender or light blue shirt with this and an appropriate tie to match. This assumes you have a light grey suit already. Same shoe recommendation as below, though I think black shoes would be more okay with a light grey suit than with the cream trousers and blazer look.

Failing this, white or cream trousers and a light navy blazer are a good option. A light navy blazer as opposed to a baby blue jacket would give you more shirt / tie options to work with (e.g. light blue shirt which I prefer to a white shirt when wearing white or cream trousers). Consider pink, lavender or a tasteful light-to-mid green for your tie. You'll give off more than enough of a summer vibe between the pants, shirt and tie. Light navy jackets are a classic for summer anyways. For shoes, I'd go with a nice pair of loafers or monks in a medium brown color (black is technically more correct at night but I am not a pure stickler for the "no brown after 6:00" rule with more casual outfits).

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
