I really want a hard sided classic black Goyard briefcase but I work at a relatively conservative Big Four accounting firm and I am not sure if it would be inappropriate or not. Any thoughts?

I'd say yes. While it would depend on your practice and level, it's probably going to be considered too flashy.

Although, look around you and see what your colleagues carry to gauge what may be considered appropriate.

If it is plain leather, I don't see how it could be inappropriate - a hard-sided, black briefcase would be pretty much the most conservative case you can get.

If, however, it has a pattern on it, I think that it might look a bit too flashy.

I love love love Goyard! And they definitely do have drop dead gorgeous plain leather luggage in their store in Paris.

If you're talking about their logo canvas, though.. totally inappropriate.

^^^+1. The logo goods are ugly, and inappropriate for a conservative work environment.

Yeah you guys are right...most people carry ballistic nylon cases...I just want to get a nice brief case. I do not really care for the style of an of Swaine Adeney Briggs cases...
I like this Globetrotter case but it looks too much like luggage.

Would you carry a burberry check or lv monogram briefcase? If the answer is no then don't get a goyard canvas.

I love Goyard for some reason but yeah I definitely would be happy carrying something that screams the brand.

How bout this for compromise: get it in your accounting firm's logo.
