So a lot of the guys both here and on SW&D have been commenting that I could use a haircut. Anyway, I got one this morning. I'm not sure whether I like it or not, but I wondered if you guys might have any opinions on whether the current cut is good, and whether there's anything I can ask for to make the next one better.

Thanks as always.

You should have followed my advice. Now you look like a gay antique dealer who dates a closeted university librarian. You honestly looked better before.

^Oy, I was trying! So you're saying I should've gone ever shorter?

Stop twisting your face like that..you are not a 16yo camwhore girl.

And I don't see what you are trying to achieve with your hair. Does anyone else think a normal short haircut would look better?

This is hard for me to say and even harder for you to hear, but you look like you're balding, and there's nothing worse than the Tom Hanks in DaVinci Code look. Long hair when you have such a prominent, shiny exposed cranium is not flattering. You will look less dorky with really, really short hair and you'll just look better. Up to you to do it. A short haircut with such curly poofy hair will make you not look terribly bright. The barber needs to use shears for you. I'd say a quarter of an inch long. Also, stop contorting your face like that.

Especially when it's all pushed to one side like that. There is 1" of forehead above one eyebrow and 6" above the other. Looks...strange.

IMO, it needs to be cut shorter. I think you would be able to pull off a short cut very well.

No. It's just a slightly shorter version of what you had. There is virtually no difference.

I would urge you to go for a symmetrical styled haircut, that is much shorter. Forget the part and have nice relaxed curls. You will instantly look more mature and stylish.

You need to go to a good stylist to get this done and ask about hair products that will allow your hair to look groomed and neat.

You are at an age where your friends will give you **** for changing your hair style, even if it is much better. Just get a great haircut, forget the part and know that you will look better.

Good luck and I admire you for putting up with all the nasty crap comments.

I prefer my haircuts to be symmetrical in some way. With your new cut, your right side has a lot of extra weight. Because of the shape of your face, it sticks out a bit more.

I agree with others saying cut it short. If nothing else, you can tame the hair, then let it grow a bit while maintaining control. Its almost a separate entity at this point.

Ya bastard (me trying scottish speak) It could be, he is balding. He may also just have a high forehead. Actually I think this looks worse than before. You looked a bit out there in a cool sort of way. Now in the last picture there is no coolness left. None. Could it be restored? I guess you have to follow the advice to the limit and sheer that coat.

I think you and I have a similar face shape (high forehead, weakish chin, nose, etc) and I went for the 'little boy' style (part on the side, comb straight accross forehead). I have thick curly hair like you, and this style works well for me. It's not perfect, but it's good enough. I'll post a pic if you would like. Good luck!

I don't really give a **** about anyone thinking I look like a gay antique seller/closeted university librarian, but the fact that you (probably jokingly) imply that gay antique sellers are paedophiles kind of offends me. Anyway, if you're just saying I somehow look creepy with the dark bags under my eyes and stuff, then yeah. I had exams last week and kind of neglected sleep.

Fair enough regarding the facial expression thing. I'm still kind of used to sucking in mah face for pictures (from back when I was a fatass). Does this look better/more natural:

? And I'm kind of confused. You say I'd look better with shorter hair, but then that short cuts with curly hair make people look unintelligent (I kind of agree). Personally, I prefer looking intelligent to looking brutish, even if the latter is more aesthetically pleasing. The girls I hang out with seem to share that preference.

Thanks for the constructiveness, psg; I sincerely appreciate it! I currently go to what I'd consider a pretty good stylist, but I'll think about going to a different one. I'll definitely ask about different products.

Sounds interesting, I'd love to see a picture if you don't mind posting one. ----------------- Anyway, I think that I was kind of going for a 1960's RFK type of look. Kind of like this:

I'm assuming I don't have the hair and/or face shape to pull that off, right?
