I think you guys will be surprised. Remember MD has excellent acting qualities. IF the Gekko's character is elaborated andthe plot is worked out well this can be a very good movie. Just wait till the movie comes out first.

They need it to be serious (like the first one was) and they should not get tacky about it.

Every single movie/tv show i've seen about wall street since the original movie has been so cheese.

i.e. boiler room, the wall street show on the HD channel about some hedge fund managers, everything on CNBC, etc.

for example - the apprentice with these young dorks who think they r hollywood/business poeple is just disgusting

they need it to be raw, hardcore, with a great storyline.

The only sequels that have ever succeeded in my opin. are
godfather, rocky, and star wars

every other attempt has been horrid

If Alex makes the shirts for this movie, I hope he goes for something vintage inspired.

I liked Boiler Room. It was what it was, a movie about con men. No higher purpose but entertainment. Wall Street was good for the first half of the movie until it got all preachy and turned Gordon Gekko from the hero he was into a criminal.

Interesting aside about the original Wall Street... had a chance to hear from a guy named Terren Peizer who used to work for Michael Milken. Supposedly Oliver Stone, Michael Douglas and some producers had a meeting with Milken & Peizer about basing the character of Gordon Gekko on Milken, and Bud Fox on Peizer. Milken inquired as to how much they expected the movie would make, and Stone's estimate was somewhere around $20 million (they didn't expect it to be quite the hit that it was).

Milken reportedly offered to pay them $20 million not to make the movie.
