I know we should be seeing new Nexus phones, but I have not heard anything about tablet updates.

Same, I had not heard about a new Nexus Tablet.

Actually, I just did a search and they're talking about a price shift, dropping the 8GB down to just over $100, the 16gb to $199, and a new 32gb at the top.

If they can get the Nexus down to $100, that would be amazing. Not sure I see that happening so soon unless Google decides to eat some of the cost.

I'd buy one just to tinker around with for $100.

I like my Nexus 7 a lot. It is very handy to have around.

I am a Google/Android fan boy. I have a Galaxy Nexus too. The Nexus 7 is basically a bigger Galaxy Nexus which made me hesitant about buying it...But I find all kinds of uses for it. I am in school and I like to use it for looking through powerpoints, watching videos, looking at documents, browsing, etc....And it's much more pleasant than doing it on the Galaxy Nexus.

In case anyone is interested, we finally have an idea of the Nexus 7's sales numbers. Google has remained silent on it so far, but the company that manufactures the tablets for provided the details.

Solid start and it's apparent that Google's aggressive pricing is working well.

I love my Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus; I just wish the Google Music app was better.

Mind me asking, what office app are you using to view PPTs on Android? Because when I've tried to view some educational PPTs using various Android apps, like QuickOffice or Office Suite Pro. Very often the formatting is screwed-up, or ones that are interactive, just don't work properly at all, e.g. Jeopardy game PPTs. Normally I use MS Office 2010 on Windows, for creating and viewing PPTs.

Nexus 10 is getting some great reviews. Lack of apps is really the only downfall so far.

I actually think the reviews are being too generous considering the state of the app market. Don't get me wrong, it's great hardware and stock Android is nice. It just limits the utility of a tablet to have the majority of apps be nothing more then phone apps scaled for a larger screen. Google's not doing a good enough of a job getting real tablet apps made for the device. The whole "one app across all devices" philosophy is not working.

The Surface RT is much in the same state, but at least MS is putting a huge amount of effort into getting the app store to where it needs to be. I expect it to be a whole other beast in 6 months to a year from now. :)

I actually ordered an Asus Infinity TF700 32gb. Got it for $400 so I think it's totally worth it as it's faster than the Nexus 10, has a brighter screen (sacrifices some Pixels), and much longer battery especially since I ordered the Docking Keyboard.

I don't have a personal laptop so I think this solution fills a good gap for me. Will see how it works in practice.

The Nexus 10 is too expensive for what it offers IMO.

I've been using the Nexus 7 32gb for the past week and I must say that I do love it. Right now it's mainly being used for watching Netflix, google currents, and as a photo viewer, but it's definitely a nice supplement to my Droid RAZR maxx. I'm trying to use my work computer less as a consumption device and switch over all my personal matters over to the tablet.

I considered the Nexus 10 for a while, since I was afraid that 7 inches wouldn't give me enough screen real estate, but the portability and the nice screen quickly make up for it.

I'm really hoping that Miracast gets implemented on this device, and that Amazon Instant someday works on this. Not likely for the latter since this device is in pretty direct competition with the Fire.

This little thing is nice, very portable and I like the quad core

Just wish I could do split screen without having to root, google seems to go by DPI and thinks this is a phone or something
Also can't copy/paste image directly into email like in iOS ... Otherwise its great
