How are they, in any way, different from Facebook?
In my mind, FB has shit on it people put there on purpose. Google, oth, sniffs emails, (maybe) online documents, one's search history, etc. Just seems more sinister to me. Probably just my ancient, drug-addled brain though.

You're old enough to remember privacy and anonymity.

Google also scares me. I have a conversation with my wife and somehow google begins to send me targeted ads.

Google tries a lot of shit, some of it sticks, some of it doesn't... lets see where this goes. I will say this, Android is a great way for them to integrate this.

hahaha yeah, that made me laugh because it's so true. google comes out with SO much shit. they don't filter anything out.

Thanks - sobering stuff. I hate the idea of the "filter bubble" and fear that SF will move in that direction with the new system change.

Google scares the shit out of me. Well, maybe not, but they have managed to get their hands on an awful lot of personal and perhaps secret information.
As it is, I use Facebook in its own Opera session and use Firefox for everything else -- no cross contamination.
