Hey guys.

Wondering if anyone knows of a good tailor in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area who can do a good hem (keeping the original) on a few pairs of selvedge denim I have.

Thanks!

Can't help you here but I'm moving to the Winston-Salem area soon and would travel to the triangle for anyone who can do this well. Hopefully someone can help us

Try Raleigh Denim. If they don't take outside work they'll certainly know who would.
I asked them and they recommended a place called "Tam's Tailor" which is just in a strip mall and has no online reviews. Might just be a hidden gem though!

I have pretty expensive denim I need hemmed I just don't want them to get screwed up.

Was hoping someone here had a good experience with this in the area.

Then just take a pair that you rarely use as a test.

When I last checked a month ago, Raleigh Denim will no longer do hemming on denim that wass not their own. I ended up going to Hudson Hill in Greensboro. They also have a darning machine and do repairs. They did good work and completed the alterations while I eat lunch up the street. It was worth the trip.

why not try shipping them to someone reputable? I've used AB Fits in San Francisco, the company that Gustin uses to hem their jeans, and they've been good. $15 for a chainstitch hem, which is pretty inexpensive compared to others, plus you pay shipping both ways. I would also recommend Blue Owl Workshop. They're a little more expensive but Jay D is great to work with and they'll take care of you either way.
