Looking to have my first bespoke suit made. Something classic--three button, notch lapel waistcoat, maybe a navy windowpane...maybe a little Boardwalk Empire, withoutbeing too dated or costumey.

Looking for a recommend for a tailor in Los Angeles as I am likely to be in Laguna Hills around Thanksgiving.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Looks like Enzo Caruso takes quite a bit, but I happen to live in SaMo. Any recommendations for someone nearby who would be quicker for more straightforward alterations rather than something bespoke?

Enzo Caruso in Santa Monica.

Two questions for you: Have you had any work done by Enzo Caruso?

And where is Santa Monica relative to Laguna Hills?

Caruso has a very well established reputation. Unfortunately he's about 50 plus mile north of where you'll be and to get to him you'll have to drive on one of the worst god damned freeway in L.A. Laguna Hills is in Orange County and truthfully, there just aren't any great bespoke tailors down that way. The closest thing to you will be Mytailor.com who has a HQ in irvine (about 15-20 minutes drive from Laguna Hills. The do decent work but general consensus with them is that they do their best when the owner, Joe Hemrajni is in town to work with you personally.

Actually, MyTailor/Hemrajani Bros. moved from Irvine to Costa Mesa some years ago. They are now in close proximity to South Coast Plaza. This is probably of no great consequence if you are driving from Laguna Hills. I have never used Hemrajani, but I have met Joe Hemrajani several times and he impresses me as a knowledgeable, gentlemanly fellow. Hemrajani seems to have a pretty good track record for customer satisfaction to judge by comments in the fora over the years. I don't know if they do multiple fittings for a true bespoke experience or not.

There are at least three Korean custom tailors in close proximity to each other in the Wilshire (Koreatown) district of Los Angeles. The best known would be Richard Lim High Society Tailors. From what I have seen, he does pretty good work, especially for the relatively low price. His brother Robert Lim has a separate tailoring establishment nearby. There is also a Mr. Young in the same neck of the woods.
