Good tailor in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater/Norfolk-VA Beach area of Virginia?

Hello. Can anyone recommend a good tailor in the Hampton/Newport News/Norfolk area with fairly reasonable prices? I've got a few shirts that need taken in and a few other things. I have seen threads for good tailors in Richmond and Northern VA but never for the tidewater area. Thank you in advance!

Anyone, please. I am not trying to travel to Richmond or Northern VA for a tailor.

Thanks!

I'm originally from Newport News and the only real mens store I know of is the one in Williamsburg on Duke of Gloucester Street. I don't recall the name, but it is very close to the Trellis restaurant and across the street from Williams & Sonoma. I'm pretty sure they do some bespoke work, so they probably have a decent tailor.

As far as a good ANYTHING - Pierce's Pitt BBQ in Williamsburg is awesome.

That is R. Bryant Ltd. I dont think they do much, if any, custom work, at least it didnt seem like it when I was last there. Its probably best to make the hour drive to Richmond.

They do not. This place is quite the wasteland.

R. Bryant has some nice stuff though, if only they stocked a single item in my size. I count the 4+" grenadines in that category.

+100. I saw Ibo today. He does great work. He is located on Plume Street, and if you let me know what kind of work you're looking for, I should be able to give you an idea on price. Also, for basic alterations, Jae's Tailor in Newport News is good. She did alterations for the Newport News location of Beecroft and Bull, which says something. In what city are you actually located?

Indeed it is a wasteland.

What about Benton Knight in Hampton? I've only been there a few times though, and it seems pretty similar to R. Bryant.

I would highly recommend Benton and Knight. They were my go to tailors while I was at Hampton University. Benton and Knight had great prices but more importantly did terrific work. It took me some time to find a good tailor while in Hampton but once I started having work done there I never switched.

Grace's Tailor Shop on Atlantic Street in Norfolk. Grace and her late husband worked for the Quality Shop for many years, and she still does work for them. Nice lady.

I have found a suit that is going to need full alterations. What do you think I am looking at in terms of money for that "perfect sf fit"?

Thanks

How much does Ibo charge to fix up my newly found Burberry suit? Pants need to be taken in 2" or so length needs to be shorten. Jacket looks ok, need to have more of a drop added at the waist and maybe shorten a tad..

Im bringing in a suit to Ibo next week. I can ask him how much he'd charge for the alterations you have listed, or you could probably just call him and find out.
