Good stores in Vancouver for modern, minimal streetwear?

Looking for some good shops in Vancouver. Almost everywhere are the same shops that you would find in any mall. People here in general are not particularly innovative or interesting in terms of style.

I really like streetwear clothes that are modern and minimal looking.... stuff a minimal techno DJ or graphic designer would be happy wearing.

I have seen a lot of cool shops whenever I am in London UK but here I find nothing.

Any tips??

p.s. Failing this, maybe some people can recommend brands to check out and I will look for online shops??

Really? Do you live here? Name a store and I have probably checked it out.

Also I used the google search field at the top of this forum and the thread specific. Just using "Vancouver" as a search term brings up nothing remotely relevant unless it is burried many pages deep and from many years ago.

If you have some more constructive tips such as links to a specific thread, better search terms, store names or anything else it would be greatly appreciated.

Found tons of useful info in the search but I spent more than 5 seconds trying.

If you search that it is on the 5th or 6 page of search results. Not exactly 5 seconds if you are actually reading the thread titles to see if they might be relevant. For someone like yourself that has like 10k posts maybe you have already read them all in the past but I am clearly new here.

Also this post you linked is a general "where to buy good clothes in vancouver". No one has made any reference to the specific style/aesthetic I clearly asked about in my original post.

I use a lot of different forums and I am aware of the etiquette that one should spend some time to search first. In this case I did not find the search engine to be particularly effective and I was looking for specific information that no one so far has showed me was previously discussed.

I work in Gastown and there are new places popping up all the time. I think I need to spend a day exploring all the side streets there and see what's new. Any stores that you recommend in particular?

I would consider that more simple and classic.

I guess it hard to describe and it is clearly going to be interpreted differently by people.

I used to like Snug Industries from Toronto. They had some crazy "candy raver" stuff like ridiculous flares but they also had some really cool more subtle clothing. All of there stuff always had some unique detail like a weird pocket somewhere or interesting label placement... I think of them as micro details.

Colors were usually solids with clean lines and not too busy. Snug no longer exists (I think there was a spin off called Spi Ware) but this is just an example.

Minimal does not equal simple, quite the opposite.

I guess the past years I have been impressed with a lot of snowboarding jackets+pants. The style on some of these is again is close to the aesthetic I like but these same companies are not really applying it to their regular shirts and pants. I used to get a lot of my clothes from skateboard shops when I was younger but I am not finding these same brands to be as innovative or interesting as they used to be.
