I wouldn't be shocked to receive a card from Domenico Vacca or Bergdorf if I had just dropped 3-5k on MTM shoes or clothing, but a hand printed card for some heavily discounted Chelsea boots? (A Thank You from Alfred Dunhill showed up in mailbox today with an accompanying business card).

One of nicest gestures I've received from a 5th Ave. retailer. Just thought I would share.

Quick question for those out there.

Do those that drop 3-5K at DV or Bergdorf get cards like that?

Wouldn't be surprised that Vacca would.

What I was really very surprised at was Hallak Cleaner's thank you card and invitation to put them to the test. I was quite impressed.

Not completely related, but I've received thank-you letters from my waiter at Del Frisco's steakhouse in Vegas several times. Perhaps the only restaurant I've ever received one from (despite some rather extravagant dinners in NYC).

Very cool about Dunhill however. I really like some of their casual (cloth and leather) driving jackets. It's a shame they closed their non-NYC boutiques (Chicago was open less than 1 year in new location).

I typically get thank-you notes from the three men's stores that I do most of my business with whenever I make a significant purchase. The most unexpected thank-you note that I ever got was from an Emporio Armani, where I had bought a $120 watch.

I also get "thank you" notes from some mens stores that I frequent.
I get Christmas cards and birthday cards (sometimes Easter cards) from many of the bespoke artisans I do business with.

The folks at Hallak really are quite amazing. Would recommend them to anyone isn't already a loyal customer.
