I am looking for decent dress pants that are offered in waist sizes < 30 in. I am a 28" waist and the sub 30 in. size seems to be an extinct species in most lines - BB for example seems to start at 30.

Any recommendations on sources that are good quality and don't break the bank?

Thanks!

Incotex do size 28, though they don't seem to appear in B&S very often...

All the Italian brands should. Problem is Italian pants aren't sized on waist but on hips or something. So depending on how you're built different brands will fit you differently in the waist.

The other problem is I've no idea how they label things for the US market.

I'm in the same boat. I'm a 28 waist and a 27 inseam (I'm 5'4"). It sucks trying to find a decent pair of pants. Gap and BR have 28 waists for online only but they're not the best quality.

From the pics online, BR seems to have a pretty long rise. This doesn't help us short people. Can anyone confirm?

Just noticed this but J. Crew also has some of their pants that go down to a 28 waist.

One of the best RTW pants I have seen ...

Thank you, sir!

Our winter collection, currently en route from Italy, includes some pairs in size EU 44/US 28. Limited quantities because I wasn't sure of the demand. They should be available within a week to ten days.

I'm curious how you decide on the US size? I'm a 46 in dress pants and a 44 in Italian jeans. Putting the tape measure in the 46 pant belt loops results in a number far smaller then 28 inches. Thats the out side of the pants to.

Club Monaco has lots of 28s from what I've seen... can't comment on the quality, though.

Jcrew is good about making pants and shorts in a 28 unlike most companies. I mostly wear kids clothes to find a 28. Zara has some that are around a 29, I'm not sure the exact size but they're a little big.
