+1. I like Manton's line on this from his book:

"Reason requires of every man that his jacket always cover his seat lest his clothes look feminine; in the case of the diminutive man, it must extend no further."

I agree about the stripes and spacing; it would not have been my first choice, but this was in my "if it's cheap it must be good" phase. These days I try to get what I want, price notwithstanding.

I like the orange/rust tones, CBD or not. The green one I'm not so crazy about, and the fan print I had admired, though it does seem a bit in your face (hey, who's the guy asking for non-CBD, amirite?)

    Here's a couple others I dredged up:

Oh, and for Stitch, as requested:

I think this is a reasonable representation of true colors.

I'm not totally crazy about either of those for the following reasons...the green on that tie from No Man is dull enough that there might not be enough contrast between the suit and the tie, especially since they have similar textures. Would have to see them next to each other, but I would guess if you put them together, took a picture and put it in grayscale, they would look the same exactly. I'd prefer to have a little more contrast between suit and tie on some dimension.

The Shibumi tie is nice, but the scale of the pattern is large enough that it may overwhelm the suit. This is a problem with that fan tie that I linked too, but I think it would be mitigated somewhat by the fact that the pattern rotates instead of repeating exactly as the Shibumi does. Also I think it might have the opposite problem of the striped green tie and be too bright.

Of course, it's hard to tell for sure without seeing them together, but these are the things I'd be worried about in putting that suit together with either tie.

I had a similar concern about the green being too dull when I put them side by side. And I think your comments re. the other two seem pretty on point. I guess in the end it's rather a CBD suit, even though I don't think the styling is too conservative. I do think something in the rust/burnt orange family would be nice, CBD or no.

Diminutive? You're not going to take this sitting down, are you SB? Oh, you're...standing? Never mind :rimshot:.

Srsly, I think "modest stature" is perfectly sufficient (particularly since SB and I are of similar height).

Tie Your Tie have some beautiful wool stripes and checks for this season. I picked some with oranges and brown tones. (Pictures in the spoiler.)

I hear what unbel means, but I think the green stripe will work.

Hehe, fair enough. "Modest stature" works as well, but didn't feel like altering the quotation. I'm 5ft7 myself.

Depends how obvious the herringbone pattern is, and the shade brown. Pics please.

Um, how about from a little more distance, from how they would realistically appear in a fit pic.

Tough call, RTC. I'd rock a dark green donegal (if I had one) or a navy flannel. Did you get the navy Eagle County boots? Those might pair nicely with that pair of trousers.
