    100 bucks to alter sleeves? Are these working cuffs?

    @New Shoes1
    - Regarding your issue with your PS causing your "jacket lapels to buckle up". I had a similar problem, i.e. my Sam Hober rough Thai Silk PS and shallow jacket breast pockets made me look like I had moobs (man boobs).
    - Two solutions came to mind: (1) get Sam Hober to reduce the size of the PS dimensions, or (2) get my HK tailor to extend the length of my jacket breast pockets.
    - I opted for the second solution and am pleased with the results, so far. Also, my jacket breast pockets are deep enough now to store spectacles or sunglasses too (like @Braddock from Shibumi etc), which I specified for my breast pocket alterations and will do now for all my future jackets.
    - In the meantime, I'm progressively sending all my older jackets back to HK to have the above pocket alteration surgery done.
    - I hope the above suggestions helps.

    @mrjester I had similar requirements as you for my first new custom overcoats. While I do have a separate peacoat and bomber jackets too, I think the car coat is suitable as it can pull double duty as streetwear (albeit smart/casual) and can be dressed up too, as part of a CM ensemble. In my case, two custom made SB-3B car coats in mid night blue and tan cashmere, which can be worn over a SC/suit jacket. I hope that helps.

    So who thinks everyone needs a nice pair of double monks? I have my Carmina for sale because I wasn't wearing them much, but now I'm thinking about keeping them. I just see them as having a very limited use.

    ^ You don't need them, but IMO they're a pretty versatile shoe and can be worn in a lot of different contexts.

    Ok, "need" was not the right word. I just have a hard time seeing them as ideal in anything other than a casual suit or SC. Every time I've worn them without a jacket, it didn't feel right.

    I think most dubs are super clunky looking. The G&G Oakham is not bad, though:

    I am pretty sure they'd never make a Manton's "must own" list but I enjoy my pair of light brown Carmina dubs and get a lot of use out of them in the warm months.

    Okay, I'll bite.

    No question, keepers all day in a rounded rotation. Depends also on the environment we live, work and play in. Levels of formality, subjective views, received wisdom or otherwise often sway opinion. Dress em up, dress em down go with a suit, chinos or god forgive sockless WTF. Keepers all day in a rounded rotation/collection...

    @Cleav dons his double monks pretty well with his suits. I was thinking about adding a pair to my wimpy shoe collection.

    EDIT: He came while I was typing.

    I have a feeling I will end up in the minority on this one...
