RTC: are you at MGH? That's my hood/work.
Does this look familiar?
Yup! Was just there a few weeks ago for HR related issues. I'm off the main hospital campus. I've wondered how many SFers work at MGH. My guess was not many, but good to know. We'll have to do another Boston meetup soon. Couldn't make the last one in Cambridge.
Most of my daily wear shirts are CT. Sleeves and back are billowy but they're cheap. Also look at Spier & Mackay for affordable and slimmer shirts.
Whereabouts in Texas? Med Center?
RTC, their collars are usually very stiff and not wide enough to go under your lapels. They're not really suitable for wearing with a tie. The cuffs are stiff too and not very comfortable. I bought 4 of them in one of those deals last year, wore them once and chucked them. That was such a waste of money. Anyways, they might have different models that I'm not aware of, but the collars and cuffs on the shirts I had weren't my favourite.
Wow. Thank you.
I have just finished my first day of conference and wife is wanting to visit Beacon Hill. We are planning just walking over there.
Get some light gray wool trousers sssssson! But I like this. Very nice.
The slim fit actually is good on me. If it were any tighter I'd rip at the elbows.
I'm going to be presenting at a tumor conference at the Omni. I'm just a lowly research coordinator, so I am elated beyond belief.
I think they'll still look far better than the point collars I had, haha. I also have a BB Slim spread shirt. It's a hair short on the sleeves but a sliver should show with them, so I might go for that instead.
Walk on over. Text me if you're heading over soonish. I'm meeting friends for dinner at 6 30, but I could pop out and say hi if you're in the hood. I'm right next to the liberty. It's a cool area, definitely go and walk by the river too!
Yeah. Need to pick up nicer trews. I'm not willing to throw a ton more money into this though so I'll take my time getting them. I have a few pairs of tweed trews i'm excited to break out!
And I reposted that picture for a 'location' check. I'll show you where I take pictures if I see you today haha.
I am at myers and cheng and I am seeing "noodles" all over the menu.
Rtc, we gonna walk over to Beacon Hill, are you on the way?
I'm wondering if they have different collars in the UK. Your description would apply to my Brooks Brothers shirts as the collar points do not stretch far enough to sit under my lapels, but I've never had that issue with CT. In fact, I recently picked up a few shirts from Luxire with the @Betelgeuse collar (based on a Barba spread model) and the CT collar points are not significantly shorter.
^ Agree with the above. Never have had real issues with my CT collars. I just get the normal spread, not the cutaway, and they've always been okay.
Just came back from walking around Boston. Started from the City Hall(?) to Chinatown to Beacon Hills to North End. My one and only question is why the hell in the world anyone would want to move from here to another city? (My boss did and I will ask him). I love this city...so far. The buildings and the scenery is so much nicer than DC. Bostonians generally dress better than Washingtonians.
Other random observations:
Lots of short girls (weird). People honk a lot while driving. Lot of skateboarders.
^ Boston is awesome, but there are a lot of other great places in the world. I say this as someone who grew up there, had a wonderful time spending several years in New York and who is now happily living in Chicago.
Haha reading this is hilarious. Can't wait to chill noodles! Texting you a pic now.
I only lived in Boston for a short time, but I love that city....I try to go back every year. They can keep the winter though...screw that $h*t.
