I was specifically talking about colors closer to your skin color, not the entire range. Tight contrast can work well. Like a darker brown jacket and lighter pants/khakis.

I still do think color palettes are different based on skin tone.

It's not totally clear what the purpose of this thread is so I'll just pose my question here instead of starting a new one. Am I crazy to seriously consider purchasing a Calvin Klein suit from Nordstrom Rack? It's $260 down from $525, fits very well (barring a few alterations), and will fit in as a "beater" suit. Right not I only have one suit (RL Black Label) that's pinstriped so I'm seriously considering this since it's solid navy and can be used more often. Will probably treat myself to a Suit Supply charcoal suit around christmas/new years.

For $260 you can sleep in it if it doesn't work out. Hide the label and what the hell.

Just get a nice brown jacket and see what happens.

I cannot recall ever not buying something due to my cracker skin tone.

    So that's the answer!
I have two gangnam dress shirts and could not find a tie to pair it with. (One purple and one navy). I guess a solid midnight navy tie would do for the navy gangnam shirt...buy what abouy the purple one?

Formosa pick up time: 01:30 PM EST Saturday (tomorrow)
Expressed my confusion on what happened with the sleeves. Mr. Field suggested that I bring in my dress shirt, but that what I did thr first time. Sigh. I hope to have a nice "bro-unch" with Murlsquirl wearing the Formosa. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I gave my purple gingham shirt away. I don't think it will look good with a purple tie and a green tie will be outside your comfort zone. Just wear it with chinos and suede loafers. Roll the sleeves.

No. The reason most men look bad in suits is not because the suit is a cheap fused job, but because the suit is the wrong size and/or is not properly tailored. As long as the suit is a classic cut, you should be fine. Unless you need the suit right away, however, I'm wondering if you're not better off saving up to buy a better suit from Yoox or Suit Supply.
